ISB’s annual Day of Service took place on Thursday, April 28th. Each year, all Lower School school classes use this important day to take a break from their normal classroom activities and engage in various community service projects. Take a look below to see the many different ways that ISB students gave back to the local community this year!

The community service began within our own school community! Nursery students spent time cleaning toys in the ISB yard.

Pre-K students planted flowers in ISB’s front yard.

Together, the ISB Community collected 350 pounds of shoes for Wearable Collections, a Carroll Gardens-based company focused on keeping clothing, textiles, and shoes out of landfills while generating funds for charities.

2nd Graders visited the children at Bumble Bee Daycare in Red Hook. They read stories, shared a snack, and planted seeds together.

3rd and 4th Graders went out to beautify the local neighborhood by picking up trash around Carroll Gardens.

5th Graders visited the Cobble Hill Health Center to perform a song, talk to, and play games with its residents.
