Flor de Maria Gonzalez Castañeda

Spanish Nursery, Head Teacher

After five years in her capacity as an after school teacher and assistant teacher in ISB’s Spanish program, Flor Gonzalez Castañeda became a head teacher in the Spanish Nursery class last year. Flor holds a MA in Early Childhood Education from her home country of Peru and is currently working on a Masters in Education from Tuoro College.

Elizabeth Machuca

Spanish Nursery, Assistant Teacher

Elizabeth holds a BA in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University as well as a State of Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate for Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Elizabeth is currently pursuing her MA for Childhood Literacy at Hunter College. She has six years of experience working with children.

Bouchra Welch-Hooper

French Nursery, Head Teacher

Bouchra has over nine years of classroom teaching experience with Preschool and Elementary children. Bouchra holds a BA in Language and Literature.

Kelsey Bozler

French Nursery, Assistant Teacher

Prior to joining ISB, Kelsey taught photography to students ages 10-15 years old and worked as an assistant preschool teacher at the Rivendell School summer program for two years.  Kelsey holds a BA in Fine Arts from SUNY Purchase.

Rosa Torres

Spanish PreKindergarten, Head Teacher

Rosa has worked at ISB for six years. Rosa holds a BA in Early Childhood Education and is working on her MA in Education at Hunter College. In 2011, Rosa received a Blackboard Award for her excellence in teaching.

Leticia Gonzalez

Spanish PreKindergarten, Assistant Teacher

Leticia has worked with Nursery through 1st Grade students at ISB. Leticia holds Assistant Teacher Certification from both New York State and New York City College of Technology.

Sirika Yong

French PreKindergarten, Head Teacher

Sirika holds a MA in French as a Foreign Language from Stendhall III University and has six years of teaching experience. In addition to French, she is fluent in English and Cambodian. This is Sirika’s third year teaching in a PreK classroom.

Stephanie Lebas Peterson

French PreKindergarten, Assistant Teacher

Stephanie recently graduated from University of Massachusetts with a MA in Art History. Prior to joining ISB, she has worked with university students and primary school students at Academie de Paris in France.
