Our Multilingual Library seeks to implement, enrich, and support our innovative educational program through access to multilingual resources and development of curriculum; to provide access to materials that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community; and to improve reading and research skills through collaboration, and traditional library education practices.
Search the Print Catalog (Destiny)The Library is a space where ISB families can share a love of reading with their children.The Library is open to parents and caregivers every day before school from 8:15 am – 9:00 am and after school from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm as a place for quiet reading, checking out books, doing homework, drawing, and more.
ISB’s trilingual library collection contains approximately 14,000 volumes in French, Spanish and English with a wide range of print and digital materials that celebrate the diversity of the world and challenge students to engage in the global community.
Our Librarians seek to encourage reading as a pleasurable activity by providing a growing selection of age-appropriate, engaging fiction and nonfiction, and by regularly presenting educational and entertaining library programming. The school takes seriously the charge of creating life-long readers. The American Association of School Librarians’ National School Library Standards guide our library program.
The ISB Library hosts a dynamic series of author and illustrator visits throughout each school year to support multilingual literacy in Pre-K 3 through 8th Grade. Guest authors and illustrators cover a broad and diverse range of genres but share a commitment to creating excellent children’s literature. View past Library programming.

The ISB Library is a beloved space on campus and has a dedicated group of student, parent, and staff patrons.
The PA Library Committee takes great pride in providing support to the ISB Library through a range of special projects, events, and daily maintenance activities. By selecting projects that align with their personal interests, committee members actively contribute to the enhancement of the Library. This volunteer-run committee is an excellent avenue for parents and caregivers to familiarize themselves with the collection and to enjoy many opportunities to engage with the Library’s various offerings, including student and adult book clubs, curated reading lists, special programming, and more.

Maria earned a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from The Palmer School, a part of Long Island University. A Native of New Orleans, Maria has worked as a school librarian in independent schools in New York City and Rome. Maria is on the planning committee for NYSAIS Education and Information Technology Conference and Teaching With Technology symposium, has served as the vice-president for the Hudson Valley Library Association(HVLA) board twice, co-organized the Building Bridges Through Books book club through the Human Rights Pen Pal organization, and was awarded a Fulbright-Hays scholarship to Uruguay in 2019. She is a fan of Stephen Krashen’s reading theories and believes that libraries empower patrons and benefit society in countless ways. Maria is passionate about community building and is always dreaming up new ways to bring our community closer together through the love of literacy.

The Yellow House by Sarah M. Broom
A native New Yorker, Amy previously worked as a children’s book buyer for an independent bookstore in Manhattan. Additionally, she has interned with the Library of Congress Young Readers Center and worked as a Head Start classroom aide. Amy loves to help children and young adults find the books that will make them life-long readers. She believes that Professor Rudine Sims Bishop was right when she wrote that a child’s library should include books that act as mirrors to their own experiences, windows into worlds of people who are different from them and sliding glass doors to help them imagine what it would be like to exist in another’s world. Amy holds a Master’s in Library and Information Science at Pratt Institute.
