Statement of Non-Discrimination
International School of Brooklyn admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
Communicating with the Admissions Team
The most efficient mode of communication with ISB is email. Please feel free to email us with any questions regarding the admissions process: admissions@isbrooklyn.org or email Carlos Martinez, Middle School Planning Director, cmartinez@isbrooklyn.org. You may also call ISB’s main number 718-369-3023.
Application Deadline and Fee
The deadline to submit applications for the 2012-2013 school year is rolling for Middle School applications. Complete applications and application fees must be received at ISB in order to receive a parent tour and interview appointment. It is strongly recommended to submit all of your admissions materials as soon as you are ready, in order to facilitate tour and interview scheduling. However, all applications receive equal consideration, as long as they are received/postmarked by the deadline.
Your application must include a non-refundable $75 fee. Checks should be made out to International School of Brooklyn (credit cards are accepted at the office or over the phone). WE CANNOT ACCEPT CASH.
Kindly submit applications directly at the ISB main office or via mail to: ISB, 477 Court St., Brooklyn, NY 11231.
Application Materials
The ISB Middle School application must include the following:
- Middle School Application form (including Parent Statement) and $75 Application Fee
- A copy of student’s most recent school report card
- Student’s ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam, see www.erblearn.org / ISB’s #: 336654)
- Teacher Evaluation Form #1
- Teacher Evaluation Form #2

Student Visits
A visit for your child(ren) will be scheduled when you receive your parent tour and interview date. Students will come for a half-day visit in a classroom of their peers on a school day (includes a target language assessment for students applying for the French/English or Spanish/English programs). All applicants for Middle school need to have an interview with the Middle School Planning Director in order to assess the linguistic level of the applicants. The interview takes place in a friendly and comfortable environment and it is not meant to be an exam. This assessment will provide a clear picture to the Admissions Team of what the applicant’s level of language is.
