ISB celebrated Cultural Week 2015 from May 6 through May 8. Each day, students participated in a wide range of workshops hosted by parents, staff, and members of the local community, providing students new opportunities to explore food, art, movement, traditional crafts, sports, games, language, and traditions from different cultures. We also learned more about the background of some of ISB’s staff members through the Diversity Committee’s wonderful posters, which hung in the first floor hallway.

Thank you to the many parents and staff members who volunteered to host workshops focused on traditions from around the world, and especially to our Cultural Week Coordinators Sharon Ng and Andrea Kientz! A very special thank you also goes to our community partners for hosting wonderful classes on diverse subjects, ranging from pasta making to South Asian textile design: Frankies 457, Mil’s Trills, Collina Italiana, Le Petit Café, The Laurel Project, One to World, FIAF, Workshop Essayer, Stinky Bklyn, Beautiful Nation Project, Dancewave, One to World, and Samara Mahendru of MUNY. Thanks to our volunteers, our students had remarkable hands-on learning experiences that they will remember for years to come. We can’t wait until next year!
